OneUnited Bank, the nation’s largest Black-owned bank, partnered with Magnet Media – a woman-owned business with vast experience in financial and virtual/hybrid storytelling – to help plan, execute, and produce the bank’s first  world-class virtual financial literacy conference on Juneteenth 2021.

STRATEGY

OneUnited Bank, partnering with Visa and Fidelity Investments, worked with Magnet Media to bring together national financial experts and thought leaders in a series of workshops on home-buying, creating and maintaining a successful business and how-to sessions on creating a will, buying life insurance, saving, investing, and improving credit scores.

Magnet Media secured a historically Black location in Harlem and curated an award-winning BIPOC crew for the inaugural OneTransaction event, which provided new insights and engagement opportunities.

RESULTS

The conference, which resulted in 25 total episodes of video content, was wildly successful. It was featured in the national financial press as well as national television and print outlets. More than 30,000 people registered, with 5,700 live participants. More than 11,500 responses were gathered to poll questions and 1,400 comments were lodged. All the sessions remain on OneUnited Bank’s website accessible to registrants.
